The Mammoth Site

Evans Plunge

Established in 1890, Evans Plunge is the oldest tourist attractions in the Black Hills. Natural spring-fed waters maintain a temperature of 87 degrees. 5,000 gallons of water per minute flows into Evans Plunge from a thermal spring. Today, there are waterslides, kids pools, hot tubs, sauna, steam room, weight room with cardio equipment and more.

World Fossil Finder Museum

The World Fossil Finder Museum is not your typical fossil museum, but a museum with several world wide first fossil discoveries. It is a family friendly museum that wants to inspire and educate children and adults of all ages to enjoy learning about the natural wonders of the world.

Wind Cave National Park

Bison, elk, and other wildlife roam the rolling prairie grasslands and forested hillsides of one of America's oldest national parks. Below the remnant island of intact prairie sits Wind Cave, one of the longest and most complex caves in the world. Named for barometric winds at its entrance, this maze of passages is home to boxwork, a unique formation rarely found elsewhere.

Crazy Horse Memorial

Crazy Horse Memorial is located in the heart of the beautiful Black Hills. The elevation on the Mountain is 6,532 feet above sea level and ranks 27th highest mountain in South Dakota. It depicts Crazy Horse, an Oglala Lakota warrior, riding a horse and pointing into the distance. The next phase of progress on the Mountain includes carving Crazy Horse's left Hand, left Forearm, right Shoulder, Hairline, and part of the Horse’s Mane and Head.

Angostura Recreation Area

Angostura Reservoir is a water-lover’s haven with breathtaking, scenic views. Offering crystal clear waters, 36 miles of shoreline, and some of the finest sandy beaches in the state, the area boasts many water sports and summer fun activities - camping, boating, fishing, and swimming. Its strong fishery is well known for its walleye, smallmouth bass, crappie, and also supports northern pike, largemouth bass, perch and bluegill.
